Johann Strauss

It was in the late seventies of the 20th century, when the successful violinist and conductor Herbert Siebert decided to establish his first own orchestra. After many years as a member of the “Hesse-State-Orchestra” he founded his “Johann-Stauss-Orchestra.” With his classical “Vienna Repertoire” Herbert Seibert created an unexpected enthusiasm all over Germany.

First he filled a gap in the music scene. And over the following decades Herbert Siebert with his orchestra became a constituent part of the cultural life. The orchestra grew over the years and the today the Johann-Stauss-Orchestra on its maximum cast has the size of a big Philharmonic Orchestra with all possibilities to present a demanding repertoire of the “Popular Classic”-genre.
